Bear Cub Makes Safari Debut At Six Flags Great Adventure
The baby European brown bear joins the group in the Wild Safari's habitat where visitors can see it.

JACKSON, NJ — Springtime is baby season for a variety of wildlife, and at Six Flags Great Adventure the babies are beginning to come out in view.
One of the newest additions is a brown bear cub that was born at the park just two months ago.
The baby, named JJ, and its mother, Hollywood, are now spending time in a dedicated habitat space among the park's European brown bears, park officials said.

European brown bears are one of the largest bear species, growing up to 8 feet long and weighing more than 1,000 pounds. They are strong and can run up to 35 mph, the park's website notes, and are omnivores and eat plants, berries, fish, and meat.
Some populations in Europe are endangered due to hunting and habitat destruction, but conservation efforts are helping them survive, the Six Flags safari website said.

People who want to see JJ and Hollywood can see them in one of two ways.
There is the Wild Safari Base Camp truck tour, which leaves from the Safari entrance and can be done as a standalone ticket.
The park also offers access to the Wild Safari Off-Road tour from within main amusement park at Frontier Station. Wait times inside the park for the tour can be lengthy so it's recommended that people go early.
The Wild Safari has more than 1,200 animals, including babies. The park did not say how many brown bears are part of the exhibit but they can be seen playing during the safari tours.
