BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Planning Board is scheduled to hold another special meeting to continue the hearing on the proposal to build 59 homes on 30 acres in the Breton Woods neighborhood.

The hearing is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road, Brick.

The hearing on the application by D.R. Horton to build the homes on a parcel of land that belongs to Visitation Roman Catholic Church is expected to focus on rebuttal testimony from the developer's experts regarding pervious pavement.

The project includes the use of pervious pavement on the streets in the development as part of its stormwater runoff plan; responsibility for maintaining those streets will be turned over to the township. Brick Township Engineer Elissa Commins has objected to the proposal because the maintenance of pervious pavement is more complicated and expensive than standard asphalt.

John Giunco, the attorney for D.R. Horton, said at the last hearing, in October, that he was hopeful of wrapping up the case and getting to public comment and a vote.
