Brick Little League Iron Pigs Win Title

The Brick Little League Iron Pigs won the 2011 Major League Division title, said Anthony Verdes, one of the team's coaches.

The Iron Pigs won the title in two straight, very close games, Verdes said. The team won its first game 4-3 and its second game 6-5. The Iron Pigs ended their 2011 spring season with an overall record of 20-2, including the playoff matchups.

Players included: Eric Bohrer, Noah DeAlmeida, Joe Espana, Tyler Knowsley, Shane Leonard, Gianni Linfante, Pat Mulligan, Raj Patel, Mike Thompson, Mike Verdes, Cory Wilson and D.J. Wilson. Dave Wilson, Mike Bohrer and Anthony Verdes were the coaches.
