Brick Man Hit, Killed Crossing Lanes Mill Road: Police
William P. Johnson, 52, was hit while crossing near the Dorado Plaza, Brick police said.

BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township man died Monday night when he was hit by a car while crossing Lanes Mill Road, Brick Township police said.
William P. Johnson, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene, Brick Township Patrolman Scott Dierking said. Johnson was crossing Lanes Mill about 8:15 p.m. when he was hit by a silver 2011 Toyota Camry driven by Moshe Wachsman, 35, of Lakewood, Dierking said.
Johnson was crossing the road about 150 feet north of the intersection of Lanes Mill and Stephan Road, in the area of the Dorado Plaza, when he was hit by the Camry, who was southbound at the time, Dierking said.

After the collision, Johnson's body wound up on the southbound outside lane, he said. Wachsman pulled over immediately. Brick Township police officers and Emergency Medical Services along with MONOC paramedics responded to the scene but Johnson had succumbed to his injuries, Dierking said.
Wachsman showed no signs of impairment and was not using his cell phone at the time of the crash, he said.

There was a crosswalk at Stephan Raod, Dierking said.
The traffic safety unit responded to investigate the crash along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit. The Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office and sheriff department’s Criminal Investigation Unit responded to process the scene.
Traffic was detoured around the crash scene for about 90 minutes for the investigation, he said.
Patroman Jay Lampiasi and Dierking are continuing the investigation. Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 732-262-1140.
