Brick Man Indicted On Attempted Murder In Woman's Stabbing: Report

The man stabbed the woman repeatedly in the attack last spring but she survived, the report said.

BRICK, NJ -- A Brick Township man who was found covered in blood after he stabbed a woman multiple times in a March attack has been indicted in the case, according to a report.

The Asbury Park Press reported Christopher Dalzell, 59, was indicted by an Ocean County grand Jury on has charges of attempted murder, possessing a weapon, a knife, for an unlawful purpose and unlawfully possessing the knife.

Dalzell is accused of stabbing the woman more than six times in the March 29 attack in a Cedar Bridge Avenue residence, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said at the time. She survived the attack.

Brick Township police were called to the residence about 10 p.m. on March 29 and found the woman, who had been stabbed multiple times in the chest and abdomen. She was alert, however, and told police she knew the man who stabbed her and that he was still in the bedroom of the residence, Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor’s office, said at the time. Police found Dalzell in the bedroom, covered in blood, he said.

Dalzell remains in the Ocean County Jail, Toms River, in lieu of $200,000 bail, according to jail records.
