Brick Police Seeking Driver's ID In Pedestrian Hit-And-Run

If you know of a Jeep Wrangler with new damage or have any information in the case, please contact Brick police.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the drivery of a Jeep Wrangler that hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Cedar Bridge Avenue and Hooper Avenue, police said in a news release.

The incident happened about 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, Brick police said. The pedestrian was crossing the road and was struck by the Wrangler, which was described as either silver or white, police said.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old male, suffered a head injury and some broken bones, Sgt. Neal Pedersen said. He is out of the hospital and recovering, Pedersen said.

The vehicle was last seen in the area of Vanada Drive, but surveillance video from the Mantoloking Bridge shows a Jeep, possibly the suspect vehicle, crossing into Mantoloking Borough a short time after the crash, police said.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office is examining the images in an attempt to obtain a vehicle registration, police said.

The Traffic Safety Unit is asking the public for assistance in locating this vehicle. If you know of a white or silver Jeep Wrangler in your area and observed new damage to it, we ask you to let us know. Damage may be minor and may be to the front and or either side, of the vehicle.
