Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly said police would release an update if and when there is a development in the incident that they decide to release.

The shooting happened about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Kelly said. The victim told police the incident started on Brick Boulevard, and the pickup truck continued to pass him and brake-check him several times as they drove along Route 70 east.

While the victim was stopped at the red light at the Route 70/Route 88 interchange, the suspect drove by and fired three shots toward the passenger side of his vehicle. The pickup truck then took off and was last seen going east on Route 70, running several red lights, Kelly said.

Police found a bullet in the front passenger side door frame of the victim's vehicle, he said.

The two men were described as white and in their 20s to early 30s, and were driving a newer model red pickup truck with an extended cab, Kelly said.

Police have asked anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have a dashcam and was driving in either direction on Brick Boulevard or on Route 70 in the area between 7:35 p.m. and 7:55 p.m. Saturday and potentially captured part of the incident, to contact them.

Detective Ryan Talty is investigating and can be reached at 732-262-1170 or rtalty@brickpd.com.
