Why are you seeking a seat on the school board?

To be an advocate for students, parents, teachers, and school staff. The last 2 years have showed how integral the school is to our society. The Board is where all of it emanates from.

The single most pressing issue facing our school district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

The parents don’t feel heard or that they have power. I intend to encourage parents to come to board meetings and voice concerns. I would also listen and do my absolute best to help or lead them to someone who can.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking to serve on the school board seat?

Honestly, the current board has been amazing. I do however bring fresh ideas. I do not have a political agenda. I see that the children/parents need someone without an agenda on their side.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

My slogan is “For Our Future.” This is the key to why I am running. These are not just kids. These are the future leaders of our world. What we instill in them now molds who they will be.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you will be effective on the school board?

As the parent of a special needs child, I fought for what she needed. I fought and will always fight for what she needs. We moved to Brick so she could have a better, more encouraging school experience. I want your child to “Enter to learn, Leave to succeed,” just like my child will. I will be your child’s advocate as well.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am a parent just like most of you. I care about the school as a whole, from budget-balancing to cornstalks and mums at the flower sale (which were loaded with care). I hold all these things as important, and will see to them, to the best of my ability.
