UPDATE: Brick's 2016 Memorial Day Parade Canceled
Storms predicted for Monday convinced officials to cancel the parade; a ceremony will still be held.

BRICK, NJ -- (UPDATE, 7 p.m. Sunday) -- Brick Township officials announced Monday's Memorial Day parade has been canceled due to predicted storms that are expected to hit the area.
However, the township will still have a ceremony to mark Memorial Day inside the municipal building, officials said. That service will begin at 10 a.m.

Brick Township will take time to honor those who gave their lives in military service to the United States on Monday with the township's annual Memorial Day parade.
Marchers will gather at the former Foodtown parking lot. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. and marches down Chambers Bridge Road to the municipal complex, where a ceremony will be held.

Route 70 between the Laurelton interchange and Chambers Bridge Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to noon for the parade; Chambers Bridge Road will be closed from Route 70 to the municipal complex beginning at 9:45 a.m. until the parade is completed, officials said.
It is hosted by the township along with American Legion Post 348 and VFW Post 8867.
