The council is set to appoint Derrick Ambrosino to fill the final year of Halloran's term that ends Dec. 31, 2023. Ambrosino, a lifelong Brick Township resident, ran for election in 2021 to fill the seat vacated by Democrat Paul Mummolo but finished out of the running.

Halloran, whose wife Marijane died in September 2020, was praised for the business knowledge he brought to the council during his term.
