Several New Jersey towns will have DWI crackdowns and checkpoints during Labor Day weekend, and the map below shows when and where.
Police departments will have more patrols throughout New Jersey as visitors arrive for one of the biggest tourism weekends of the summer — despite the threat of bad weather caused by Tropical Storm Hermine.
Indeed, law enforcement agencies have announced increased patrol efforts since April as high school prom season had gotten underway.

“OC Law Enforcement will do our part by being extra vigilant," said Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. "Our intent is to assure that all enjoy a safe and happy holiday.”
Drunk and impaired driving will be targeted this weekend, but not all departments listed any specific DWI checkpoint locations.

In addition to targeting drunk drivers, checkpoints could include two drug recognition experts to detect those under the influence of narcotics.
Each year, impaired drivers are responsible for about a third of the deaths occurring on Ocean County roadways, said Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office. Last year, Ocean County had 38 DWI fatalities, moving from second highest among the state's 21 counties to fifth highest.
