Happy Ending: Boy Gets His Grandfather's Wallet Back In Brick
The boy was shopping with his mom when the wallet fell out of his pocket. The power of media got the wallet back to him.

BRICK, NJ — It's a happy ending to start 2023: The boy who dropped his grandfather's wallet in the Kohl's parking lot in Brick has been reunited with it.
Jessica Pelletier Moe, the boy's mother, had posted a plea for its return to social media on Dec. 30, begging whoever found it to turn it in. On New Year's morning, she shared an update that the plea had connected the family with the finder.
The wallet had fallen out of her son's pocket and while it had gift cards and money he had received for his birthday and Christmas, Moe said her son, who just turned 10, was more upset about the wallet itself, because it had belonged to his grandfather: "(It) means the world to him," she wrote.

In an update Sunday morning, she wrote that the wallet had been found by a man not long after her son dropped it on Friday.
"After seeing it belonged to a kid, he planned on bringing it to the town library to show his card and get info," Moe said, referencing her son's library card that was in the wallet.

Moe and her son met up with the finder Sunday and received the wallet, with everything intact.
"My son has not once in the past two days complained about the money and gift cards inside he just wanted his grandfather's wallet back," she said Sunday.
"Thank you to everyone who shared, prayed and helped in getting my son's wallet back," she wrote. "In a matter of 24 hours an amazing amount of people shared our story because they felt for him because the wallet was his grandfather's. ShopRite security messaged me and spent the time reviewing (security) tapes. Brick Patch contacted me and ran the story and shared it further. Strangers have offered to replace his gift cards (while it was missing)."
"My entire family has been touched by our community and we cannot thank you enough," she wrote.
Note: This article has been updated to clarify that the wallet was returned intact.
