Heavy Storms, Flash Flooding Expected In NJ Monday
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for all New Jersey on Monday.

More stormy weather is expected to hit New Jersey on Monday — enough to bring thunder and possible flash flooding.
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the entire state, and a flash flood warning also has been issued from Bergen County all the way down to Cape May. Northwest Jersey was largely spared.

“However, the respite from the heavy rain will be brief, as another soaking storm is on the way for Monday,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Bill Deger said in a release.

The rain will spread from the central Appalachians to New England into Monday night. Heavy thunderstorms will erupt south of Washington, D.C., on Monday, according to the release.
“While widespread flooding is not expected, pockets of heavy rain will slow down commutes on some major highways,” Deger said in the release.

This includes stretches of Interstates 70, 76, 81, 84, 90 and 95. Standing water heightens the risk of vehicles hydroplaning when traveling at highway speeds. Motorists will also face reduced visibility due to downpours and spray from other vehicles, according to the release.
Airline passengers may encounter delays at the hubs in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City. The ripple effect from delays at these major airports could impact air travel elsewhere in the nation.
