BRICK, NJ — The OceanFirst Bank office at the corner of Chambers Bridge Road and Brick Boulevard would get a makeover under a proposal set to go before the Brick Township Board of Adjustment on Monday night.

The proposal also includes a retail building, all on the site where the bank currently sits, according to application documents filed on the proposal, which is slated to be heard at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building.

Under the application, the existing building would be torn down and the parking lot reconfigured. A new bank building would be constructed nearer to the point of the triangular property where Chambers Bridge intersects Brick Boulevard. It would have a drive-thru canopy behind it.

In the corner where the bank currently sits, the application proposes a retail building. The application does not say what business might go in there.

Another building that currently exists on the lot and faces Brick Boulevard will remain in place, the application said.

The proposal needs several variances, including setbacks, which the applicant says are the result of existing constraints at the oddly sized lot.
