Senior Services Center Construction Underway In Brick
Renovations at the former Brick Volunteer EMS building have begun. It will house Brick's Senior Services and Brick Police EMS headquarters.
BRICK, NJ — Brick Township officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking Thursday for workBrick Township First Aid building into the township's Senior Services Center and Brick Police EMS headquarters.
The $1 million project to renovate the building, on Aurora Place, is being funded in part with $400,000 in federal funds received from President Joe Biden's $1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill.
Mayor John Ducey and Council President Vince Minichino attended the groundbreaking ceremony, along with Police Chief James Riccio, Senior Services Director Zulma Soto and members of the Brick EMS and Township Building and Grounds staff, who will be doing the construction on the project.

The facility is expected to open in 2023, Brick officials said.
The township is converting the former first aid building to create a more centralized space for its Senior Center, which have been housed at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 8867 on Adamston Road. Senior activities continue to be held at the VFW.

The senior services staff offices are at Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, until the new center is ready.
The township owns the Aurora Place building; it reclaimed it from the Brick Volunteer EMS squad in 2019 after the squad had ceased operating and only used the hall to rent for functions.
