Plowing Continues In Brick After Blizzard Drops More Than 18 Inches
Brick Township police are urging people to stay off the roads while the work continues.

BRICK, NJ — Plow crews were set to work through the night to clear streets in Brick Township as the area continues to dig out from the blizzard that dropped more than 18 inches of snow on Brick.
More than 1,100 homes and businesses remained without electricity as of 9 p.m. Monday, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.
Brick Township police said crews from the township's public works department and outside contractors "will be working through the night in a massive effort to ensure our roads are clear and safe for travel."

Brick Township's schools and Brick's municipal building will be closed again on Tuesday, and there will be no trash or recycling collection on Tuesday.
"Our township remains active and coordinated as we work to restore all services," Brick Township police said.
Residents who still do not have power will be able to get free water and ice from JCP&L at ShopRite of Brick. Details are on the JCP&L website, officials said.
For those who rely on oxygen and need assistance, Brick police said they should call the department's non-emergency line at 732-262-1100.
Brick police also urged families to keep their children safe by not creating snow igloos.
"We want the kids to have fun, but please do not allow them to tunnel into large snow embankments," police said. "These mounds are unstable, can collapse without warning, and are often located near active plow routes."
"We thank you for your resilience and for looking out for your neighbors. We are working hard to return the Township to normal operations as quickly as possible," police said.
