Snowstorm Prompts Closure Of Brick Schools

The district announced the closure as snow fell at 1 to 2 inches per hour and was expected to continue into Monday.

BRICK, NJ — Heavy snowfall and anticipated dangerous travel conditions have prompted a snow day for the Brick Township School District.

The closure was announced Sunday afternoon for Monday's classes.

"Further updates will be communicated and posted to our website www.brickschools.org," school officials said.

The district's calendar does not have emergency closure days built in, so the closure will have to be made up at a later date.

Also closed are the Ocean County Vocational-Technical Schools. The vo-tech district also canceled evening adult education classes scheduled for Monday.
