Start Prepping For Significant Storm Now, Brick Officials Urge
Brick Township officials urge residents to make sure they have adequate supplies, snow shovels before the weekend's storm.
BRICK, NJ — Brick Township officials are urging residents to start preparing for a winter storm this weekend that is anticipated to bring significant snow to the Jersey Shore.
The township is closely monitoring weather updates and "actively preparing for the storm, including coordinating snow removal operations and ensuring equipment and personnel are ready should conditions worsen," township officials said.
The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office is predicting 24 inches of snow or more for a wide swath of New Jersey, and urging people to make sure they are prepared.

"The Office of Emergency Management reminds residents that advance preparation is key to staying safe during severe winter weather," Brick Township officials said.

The township's emergency management officials urge residents to do the following:
- Ensure shovels, snow blowers, and ice melt are easily accessible and in working order
- Make sure all vehicles and snow blowers are properly fueled ahead of the storm
- Refill prescriptions and have any necessary medications on hand
- Stock up on groceries, baby supplies, and pet food before snowfall begins
Residents should also consider checking flashlights, batteries, and cell phone chargers, and limiting unnecessary travel during periods of heavy snow.
Brick Township officials said the township will share updates and any important safety information as the storm progresses.
"In the meantime, we encourage everyone to take proactive steps to prepare so you can remain at home, stay safe, and avoid travel during significant snowfall," the township said.
