A stolen car was found submerged in a pond off a highway in Brick Wednesday morning, authorities said.

A stolen car was found submerged in a pond off a highway in Brick on Wednesday, authorities said.
A man was launching his boat at Forge Pond off Route 70 around 9:47 p.m. when he noticed a car in the water, Brick Township police Capt. Vincent Pacitti told nj.com.
Officers responding to the boater's call found the car with only its tail end sticking out of the water. One officer broke the rear window to try to see whether anyone was inside and learned it was empty, according to the report.

Authorities determined the car, a black 2009 Honda Civic, had been reported stolen from Lakewood from a residential area, according to the report.
