JACKSON, NJ — A teenager who said he wanted to fight was arrested Sunday after a scuffle with police at Six Flags Great Adventure, Jackson police said.

The teen was in the Boardwalk area at Great Adventure where police were called to a fight and "appeared to be highly agitated," Jackson Sgt. Fred Meabe said.

He started yelling at the officers, saying he was going to fight and did not care, and then pushed one of the officers, Meabe said. There was a brief struggle and the teen was quickly subdued and arrested, and one of the officers suffered minor injuries in the process, he said.

The boy was uncooperative and would not say who he was or how old he was, but police learned he was a juvenile, Meabe said. The Jackson First Aid Squad was called to treat the teen, who suffered scrapes during the struggle to arrest him, Meabe said.

The teen was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, simple assault, obstruction and resisting arrest. He was released to a family member who picked him up at police headquarters, Meabe said.
