The young woman and her boyfriend were riding personal watercrafts in the Metedeconk River when the two collided, Brick police said.

BRICK, NJ — A young woman was ejected from a personal watercraft (PWC) and broke her leg after a collision on the Metedeconk River, Brick police said.
Around 4 p.m. on Aug. 11, Lt. Paul Catalina and Officers Andriy Shevchuk and Carissa Pagnotta were patrolling the river when they came across a woman in distress and an unoccupied wave runner PWC, Sgt. Jim Kelly said.
The young woman, unidentified due to her age, had been riding the PWC when she crashed into her boyfriend's PWC, throwing her from the craft and into the water, Kelly said.

Shevchuk rode the girl's wave runner to the same marina for safekeeping, Kelly said. The NJSP Marine Unit responded to handle the crash report.
Body camera footage, redacted due to the victim's age, shows officers pulling her onto the boat and later carrying her off to the dock where EMTs were waiting.
Chief David Forrester commended the officers for this water rescue whose quick and decisive actions prevented further harm to a young woman in danger.
