2 Unlocked Vehicles Stolen In Branchburg

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office and Branchburg Police are investigating and asking residents to remain vigilant.

BRANCHBURG, NJ — Authorities are reminding residents to lock their doors after two unlocked vehicles were stolen in Branchburg on Friday morning.

Both vehicles were stolen during the early morning hours on Friday from the Neshanic Station area of Branchburg Township.

The Somerset County Prosecutor's Office and Branchburg Police are investigating and asking residents to remain vigilant.

"Thieves have previously targeted rural areas of Branchburg and surrounding towns by specifically looking for unlocked motor vehicles, or vehicles where the keys or key fob is left inside or very near to the vehicle, with the intent to steal them," said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson. "The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and Branchburg Township Police Department want to remind all citizens to not leave keys or key fob in vehicles and make sure to lock their vehicles even if when the vehicle is in their driveway."

Anyone with information relating to this theft to contact the Branchburg Police Department at 908-526-3830 or via the STOPit app. The STOPit app allows citizens to provide anonymous reports including videos and photos.
