$200K Luxury Car Purchase Fraud Leads To Charges In Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ — A Rahway man was charged with theft by deception in connection with a fraudulent purchase of $200,000 in luxury cars.

Jonathan I. Najarro, 32, of Teneyke Place in Rahway, was charged in relation to a theft by deception that occurred between July 2022 and October 2022 in Somerville, said Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives Francisco Roman Jr., and Somerville Chief of Police Dennis Manning.

On October 4, 2023, two victims reported to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office that they gave around $202,920 to Najarro to purchase multiple luxury vehicles which were never received, according to authorities.

The theft occurred between July 2022 and October 2022 in Somerville.

An investigation was then conducted into Najarro and his company, J&J Auto Sound and Security Corporation.

As a result of this investigation, on Dec. 15, 2023, Najarro was arrested at the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office without incident and charged with second-degree theft by deception.

Najarro was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in this matter.
