3-Car Crash Leads To DWI Arrest In Raritan
A Newark man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a three-car crash on Route 202 on Saturday night.
RARITAN, NJ — A Newark man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a three-car crash in Raritan on Saturday night.
At 6:16 p.m. this past Saturday, a 2003 Cadillac Escalade driven by Casildo Pena, 44, of Newark rear-ended a 2015 Ford F-150 that was stopped in traffic, at a high rate of speed in the area of Route 202 North and First Ave, said Raritan Police.
The impact pushed the F-150 into a 2020 Kia that was also stopped in traffic, said police.

Officers reported Pena was exhibiting signs of intoxication and he was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated, said police.
The driver of the Ford F-150, who is a 71-year-old man from Somerset, and his 66-year-old wife, were both taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, said police.

All three vehicles were disabled as a result of the accident and towed from the scene.
Officers Kathleen Sausa and Joseph Nepomuceno investigated the accident.
