5K Run/Walk To Benefit Children With Cancer In Bridgewater

The Sean Hanna Foundation for pediatric cancer 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk​ will be held at Duke Island Park on Saturday, Oct. 7.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Sean Hanna Foundation for pediatric cancer 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk will be held at Duke Island Park on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The 5K is USA Track and Field sanctioned, and will feature live DJs, free food, give-aways, prizes, awards and more.

Registration is from 8 to 10 a.m. with the race starting at 10 a.m. The cost is $25 and all proceeds go to help children with cancer.

Each year, approximately 15,800 kids be diagnosed with cancer, and 2,000 will not survive. A total of 60 percent of children who survive cancer into their adulthood suffer late-effects such as heart failure, secondary cancers, or infertility, according to seanhannafoundation.org.

The Sean Hanna Foundation is a public charity registered in New Jersey, exempt from federal income tax and can receive tax deductible donations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
