$5K Of Cocaine Found In Child's Booster Seat At Somerset County Walmart

Two men were arrested after police found $5,000 worth of cocaine inside a pickup truck in the Walmart parking lot in Manville: prosecutor.

MANVILLE, NJ — Two men were arrested after Manville Police found cocaine inside the cup holder of a child's booster seat in the Walmart parking lot.

On March 17, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force went to the Manville Walmart parking lot based on a tip that two Hispanic men would be driving a white pickup truck with cocaine inside.

At around 7:30 p.m., police spotted the pickup truck with the men inside and searched the it. Inside about three ounces of cocaine was found in the cup holder of a child’s booster seat, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Rodolfo Romero-Rosa, 34, of Perth Amboy and Luis Torres, 24, of Perth Amboy were both arrested without incident and each was charged with 2nd degree, possession of CDS (Cocaine) with the intent to distribute.

The cocaine seized has an estimated street value of $5,000.

Romero-Rosa and Torres were lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing.
