6 Somerset County Correctional Officers Promoted

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Six newly promoted supervisors from the Correctional Police Division were sworn-in by Somerset County Sheriff Darrin J. Russo on Sept. 1.

Promoted officers included:

Sergeant Clarence Anthony: Anthony started his career at the Somerset County Jail in 2000. During his tenure received several awards and he is presently an agency Firearms Instructor. In 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Sergeant Jason Goodman: Goodman began his career as a Somerset County 911 Operator for County Communications in March 2001. He graduated the Somerset County Police Academy in June 2003. In November 2018, he was promoted to Corporal and became an agency firearms instructor.

Sergeant John Pineiro: Pineiro has been employed with the Somerset County Jail since January 2003. A Marine Corps Veteran, he was deployed to Iraq in 2006. He is also a member of the Correctional Response Team (CRT) and Sheriff’s Special Response Team (SRT).

Corporal James Bellamy: Bellamy started his corrections career in 2012 at the Hunterdon County Jail. He then transferred to the Somerset County Jail in 2015. He is a member of the National Association of Field Training Officers since 2019.

Corporal Ricky Matthews: Matthews began his career with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Division in March 2013. He serves as a member of the Somerset County Jail’s Bias & Hate Crime Unit, Honor Guard and Gang Unit. He is presently the Vice President of PBA 177.

Corporal John Reznik: Reznik began his career with Somerset County Communications in 2001. He then transferred to the Somerset County Jail in 2002.
