70 MPH Wind Gusts, Quarter-Size Hail Expected In Somerset County

Breaking: A severe thunderstorm warning​ is in effect for Somerset County. Damage to vehicles and considerable tree damage is expected.

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Somerset County until 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The thunderstorms are moving east at 55 mph with 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size, according to the NWS.

Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings, the NWS warned.
