Construction Underway For New Farmers Market Coming To Somerset County

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — An anticipated opening of Sprouts Farmers Market at the Somerset Shopping Center in Bridgewater is getting closer.

Construction work has begun at the Route 202/206 property near the Somerville Circle. Sprouts is replacing the former Christmas Tree Shops location in Bridgewater.

"The Bridgewater location is scheduled to open in the first half of 2027," said a spokesperson with Sprouts to Patch. "A more specific grand opening date will be announced at a later date."

The specialty grocer signed a lease for a 28,750-square-foot store in March, according to Levin Management Corporation.

Sprouts Farmers Market, which is headquartered in Phoenix, has more than 480 stores in 25 states and employs more than 36,000 team members. The company currently has five stores in New Jersey.

At Somerset Shopping Center, Sprouts will join Barnes & Noble as an anchor tenant.

The store had remained vacant, aside from Spirit Halloween pop-ups, since Christmas Tree Shops closed in July 2023.
