Bridgewater Officer Receives Valor Award For Fiery Route 22 Rescue

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Police Officer Noah Allatt has received a valor award after pulling an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle on Route 22.

Allatt was honored during the 200 Club's 54th annual Valor & Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Wednesday at The Palace at Somerset Park.

The Bridgewater Police Department said Allatt was recognized "for his life-saving actions despite the risk to his own safety."

"We congratulate Officer Allatt on his award and his dedication to the community," said the department.

The honor followed Allatt's response to a March 5, 2025, crash on Route 22 in Bridgewater.

One driver and a passenger were able to get out, but a second driver remained unconscious and trapped inside a vehicle.

Allatt reached into the burning vehicle, removed the unconscious driver and dragged the person to safety.

He was also honored nationally by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF).

"Officer Allatt’s actions reflect the dedication and service that law enforcement officers demonstrate across the country," said William Alexander, CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. "His willingness to act without hesitation under dangerous conditions represents the highest standard of public service that law enforcement show daily."

The 200 Club of Somerset County describes itself as a non-profit group of residents and businesses with "a deep concern for the welfare of over five thousand Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Rescue Squad members and New Jersey State Police who protect our families and our property, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year after year."
