Bound Brook Man Charged With Murder Of New Brunswick Man
Police say John Santanna, 20, of Bound Brook fatally shot Jose Medero, 51, of New Brunswick while he was sitting in his car Saturday.
BOUND BROOK, NJ — A Bound Brook man was charged with murder after police say he shot and killed a New Brunswick man early Saturday morning.
John Santanna, 20, of Bound Brook was charged and arrested with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department.
At around 1:18 a.m. on Saturday, police found Jose Medero, 51, of New Brunswick fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene, said Ciccone.

An investigation by Detective Elfi Martinez of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Sean Sullivan of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office found that Santanna shot Medero while he was sitting in his car in the area of Seaman Street and Remsen Avenue.
Santanna is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court.
