Man Found Guilty Of Sex Assault Of Child In Bound Brook

BOUND BROOK, NJ — A jury found a man guilty of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Bound Brook, Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald announced.
Lenic Galvan, 22, currently of Piscataway and formerly of Linden Avenue, Bound Brook,was convicted on May 14 by a Somerset County Jury of second-degree sexual assault by contact and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
On July 25, a 12-year-old child reported that she was sexually assaulted in Bound Brook by an unknown man, later identified as Galvin, who she met on social media, said McDonald. Read More: Aggravated Sex Assault Of Child Charge Filed Against Bound Brook Man

She said that she met Galvin on social media and he arranged for transportation for the 12-year-old girl to his home in Bound Brook where he sexually assaulted her, according to an interview she gave to a Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes/Child Abuse Unit detective and Bound Brook Borough Police Detectives.
Following an investigation and DNA results, Galvan was arrested on July 26, 2022, without incident in Bound Brook and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault by contact and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The case was investigated by Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office SVU Detective Sean Fraser and Bound Brook Police Captain Jason Gianotto and Detective Sergeant Gerard Flanagan. The Plainfield Police Department and the Union County Prosecutor’s Office helped with locating the victim the night of the incident.
Sentencing is currently scheduled for July 10 where Galvan faces up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with 85 percent of the sentence to be served without eligibility for parole pursuant to the No Early Release Act. Galvan will also be required to register under Megan’s Law and Parole Supervision for Life.
