Bound Brook Reschedules Trunk-Or-Treat Due To Looming Nor'Easter

The new date will be ​​Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.​ where kids can get free candy at the NJ Transit parking lot off E. Main St.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — Bound Brook Revitalization Partnership is rescheduling its annual “Trunk-or-Treat” from Saturday due to a Nor' easter expected this weekend that may bring 40- to 60-mph winds and heavy rain.

The new date will be Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The free candy giveaway takes place in the NJ Transit parking lot at E. Main Street and Mountain Avenue in downtown Bound Brook. There will also be a costume contest.

The trunk-or-treat event is part of the Oct. 27-Nov. 2 “Bound Brook Welcomes Halloween Around the World” promotion highlighting the borough’s diverse downtown business district.

Visitors are encouraged to sample more than two dozen international-flavored restaurants, a show at the historic Brook Theater, an art exhibit at Hamilton Street Gallery, or live music at venues including Westbrook Restaurant and Bar, Café Imperial, Trackside Bar and Grill, Cheers Sports Bar and Miraflores Peruvian Restaurant.

“From Oct. 27 through Nov. 2, we’re encouraging our businesses to feature a special Halloween-themed promotion or discount,” says downtown manager Lawrence McCullough. “It might be anything from Día de los Muertos as celebrated in Mexico, Dziady in Eastern Europe, Ognissanti and Il Giorno dei Morti throughout Italy, Fete Gede in Haiti, Samhain’s Eve from Ireland or just traditional American Halloween.”
