Branchburg Man Arrested, Found With Heroin And Suspected Cocaine: Cops

BRANCHBURG, NJ — A Branchburg man was arrested after police found him with heroin, suspected cocaine and a glass pipe, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

James A. Michael, 45, of Branchburg was charged with two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

On Feb. 7 at around 8:55 p.m., Branchburg Township Police were called to a business on Route 202 to conduct a welfare check for a mane who had been in a restroom for over an hour.

Investigating officers contacted the man who left the restroom and was identified as Michael.

A National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check found that Michael was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant which had been issued by Middlesex County Superior Court for Failure to Appear in Court.

Michael was arrested and a search of Michael found 13 wax folds containing suspected heroin, 2 small vials of suspected cocaine, and a glass pipe used for smoking narcotics.

Michael was taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing in Somerset County Superior Court.
