Bridgewater 4th Grader Is A ‘Kidpreneur’

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Nine-year-old Paige Karp is already making her mark in the business world.

Karp, a fourth grader in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District, was one of six “kidpreneurs” who participated in the Bridgwater Commons Mall pop up market in March and will be returning on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Karp started running her business EZPZ Nails in late October with her mom Erika because “I needed a job,” she told Patch.

Serving as an independent Color Street stylist, Karp helps locals beautify their nails.

“I talk to them about colors, about nail polish and let them sample colors and help them choose what they like,” Karp said.

Karp even shows locals how to mix and match colors to create unique designs such as Miami beach pink and blue.

“It’s fun and I like being an entrepreneur and act like I am the boss,” Karp said. “I try to do it all by myself.”

And Karp does do everything herself. She has run multiple vendor events and Facebook live events on her own.

“I think it’s a great exposure to real life and am really impressed with her desire to work hard and play hard,” said Paige’s mom Erika. “It is a great for her to have this experience”

Locals can check out her stand on Saturday at the Bridgewater Commons Mall at Commons Way in Bridgewater on the first level in front of Riley Rose (in the Macy’s wing).
