Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged in 2000, when 4-year-old cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott opened a lemonade stand on her front yard to help raise money to cure children with cancer. Alex lost her battle with cancer in 2004, but the foundation has since evolved into a national fundraising movement, with thousands of supporters across the country.
