Bridgewater Local Named 2019 Outstanding 4-H'er
Ben Fernandez of Bridgewater created a film of project areas and activities at the Somerset County 4-H Fair.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Ben Fernandez of Bridgewater was among three 4-H members to be chosen as the 2019 Outstanding 4-H'ers of Somerset County.
Fernandez has been a member of multiple clubs including Train Masters, Cloverworks and World Wide Writers.Ink, but his true passion is writing and producing movies.
As a member of the film division in Somerset County 4-H, he has created videos that have reached countless people in and out of 4-H. Fernandez has also created a film of project areas and activities at the Somerset County 4-H Fair. He has helped organize and participated in 4-H film nights.

Fernandez also has volunteered at various Somerset County 4-H fundraisers, attended the 4-H North Jersey Teen Conference and participated in 4-H county and state public presentations. He has been recognized for his excellence in public speaking, winning best in his room for public presentations every year he participated, and received the Dale Artfitch award for his sportsmanship.
"As a humble and well-versed member of 4-H, Ben truly exemplifies what it means to be an Outstanding 4-Her," the Somerset County 4-H Association said.

Susie Norz of Hillsborough and Alex Strasser of Warren were also selected as outstanding 4-H members.
Criteria for selection include outstanding service in the following areas: demonstration of leadership qualities; personal growth; participation in club, county, state and national events; achievement and attitude; example to others; and contribution to the total program.
