Bridgewater Man Among 4 Charged With DWI During Labor Day Weekend

Montgomery Police also reported one drug possession charge, criminal mischief and a crash recently.

MONTGOMERY, NJ — A Bridgewater man was among four people to be charged with driving while intoxicated during Labor Day weekend in Montgomery.

On Sept. 1 at 3:50 a.m., Michael Wasik, 51, of Bridgewater was arrested following a motor vehicle stop by Sgt. Larsen, Montgomery Police said.

Wasik was charged with driving while intoxicated and additional motor vehicle violations, police said.

Wasik was transported to headquarters, processed and released. He is scheduled to appear in municipal court.

On Aug. 28 at about 10:30 p.m.: Brian Omar Vera, 31, from Hillsborough was driving a 2008 Honda Pilot when it went off County Route 605 near Blue Spring Road, hit a tree and overturned onto its passenger side. Vera had minor back pain and was attended to by Montgomery EMS Squad 47. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Vera was issued a summons for careless driving.

On Aug. 30 at 7:29 p.m.: Nicole Brown, 27, of Manville was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident on Opossum Road. Brown’s vehicle struck a mailbox after Brown drove off the roadway. Brown was arrested by Officer Verducci and transported to Montgomery Township Police Department Headquarters, processed and released. She is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Aug. 30 at 11:51 p.m.: Chad B. Nelson, 41, of Burlington, Vermont was arrested by Officer Ceccato following an incident on Route 206 near Belle Mead-Griggstown Road. Nelson was charged with criminal mischief and interfering With transportation after he threw a rock at a car driving on Route 206. Nelson was transported to headquarters, processed and released. He is scheduled to appear in municipal court.

On Sept. 1 at 12:22 a.m.: Shimese Coleman, 26, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was arrested following a motor vehicle stop by Officer Verducci. Coleman was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia. Coleman was transported to headquarters, processed and released. She is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.

On Sept. 1 at 11 p.m.: Melanie Farrell, 48, of Flemington was arrested following a motor vehicle stop by Officer Murphy. Farrell was charged with driving while intoxicated and additional motor vehicle violations. Farrell was transported to headquarters, processed and released. She is scheduled to appear in municipal court.

On Sept. 2 at 1:21 a.m.: Alpesh Patel, 47, of Randolph was arrested following a motor vehicle stop by Officer Gonzalez. Patel was charged with driving while intoxicated and additional motor vehicle violations. Patel was transported to headquarters, processed and released. He is scheduled to appear in municipal court.
