Bridgewater Photographer Holds Fundraiser For Shelter Pets
A Bridgewater photographer is raising money for Somerset Regional Animal Shelter by taking coronavirus-safe photos from the front porch.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater photographer Ken Alswang is raising money for the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter by taking portraits of families sitting on their front porches in a coronavirus-safe way.
Alswang has lived in Bridgewater for 23 years and has been a professional photographer for 34 years. He recently launched the At Home Studios Porch Photos Fundraiser.
"This pandemic sparked Front Porch Photography. Since we can't do traditional family portraits for who knows how long, we can create memories from a distance. It will capture a moment in time that hopefully will never happen again," Alswang said who owns At Home Studios.

One of Alswang's clients, Lauren Vescio, suggested he do the photo sessions as a fundraiser. Alswang chose the shelter after hearing how they were struggling amid the coronavirus closure.

"I am a dog lover and know how much they need money during these times," Alswang said.
For a $25 donation Alswang will come to a client's house and spend about 15 minutes at a safe distance and take family pictures.
