Somerset Shelter Struggles To Survive Amid Coronavirus Closure
"Now more than ever we need donations because our income is limited due to the lack of adoptions": Somerset Regional Animal Shelter.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is struggling and needs your help to continue to help animals amid the coronavirus outbreak.
"Right now our animals are here, but we are closed to the public due to the COVID restriction," said Assistant Shelter Manager Rose Tropeano. "We can’t have anyone come in for fostering or adoption and our donations are down."
With no income coming in from adoptions the shelter is facing "very tough times" as they try to stay afloat.

The shelter also has a limited number of staff members due to coronavirus precautions and with kitten season starting (where there is boom in the birth of cats) the Tropeano is worried about keeping up with all of the pets needs.
Monetary and physical donations will be used to care for the animals. The shelter also has an Amazon wishlist for items they need. Items can also be donated and dropped off at 100 Commons Way in Bridgewater.
Every year the shelter that serves all of Somerset County takes in nearly 1,000 animals including cats, dogs, rabbits, and more.
