Bridgewater Police To Host 6th Annual National Night Out

The event will include face painting, a balloon artist, giveaways, officers on a dunk tank, New Jersey State Police medevac flyby, and more.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Township Police Department is once again hosting its 6th Annual National Night Out for 2023 on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

The event will be held in the Bridgewater Municipal Complex at 100 Commons Way from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event will include face painting artists, a balloon artist, giveaways, Officers on a dunk tank, a flyby of New Jersey State Police medevac "NorthSTAR," Somerset County SWAT, Somerset County Sheriff's Office K-9 demonstration, United States Marine Corps, free food and ice cream and more.

Parking is limited at the Municipal Complex. Hanlon Drive and part of Claude Drive will be closed.

Additional parking will be at the Bridgewater-Raritan High School Basilone Fieldhouse (600 Garretson Rd) across from the Municipal Complex.

Bridgewater C.E.R.T. members will be on hand to assist. Pedestrian traffic crossing will be done by uniformed Bridgewater Police Officers at Garretson Road and Commons Way. Please follow all directions when crossing Commons Way.

National Night Out, a yearlong community building campaign, is designed to:

  • heighten crime prevention awareness generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
  • strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

This is a night for America to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnership and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. NNO invites neighborhoods nationwide to “give crime a going away party."
