Bridgewater-Raritan Football State Champions Honored by Board of Education
The Bridgewater-Raritan High School football team received plaques for their historic state sectional championship win.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School football players were honored by the Board of Education on Tuesday.
The team had won the program’s first state sectional playoff championship in the previous fall season. This recognition celebrated their historical accomplishment and success on the field.
Superintendent Robert Beers, High School Principal Dan Hemberger, and High School Athletic Director Bill Deniz presented plaques to the players.

Board of Education President Mike Pepe and Board members Jeremy Li, Jim Maloney, Steve Singer, and Barry Walker also participated in the ceremony. The event marked a significant occasion for the school and the community.
Head Coach DJ Catalanao and his coaching staff were also recognized during the ceremony. The team received congratulations from their coach. This recognition took place during the halftime of Bridgewater-Raritan’s girls’ basketball game against Carteret High School.

Bridgewater-Raritan secured the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 5 state sectional championship. They achieved this by defeating Bayonne High School with a score of 21-14.
The playoff title game was held on Nov. 14. The game was played before an enthusiastic crowd at the newly renovated Basilone Memorial Field. This victory marked a significant milestone for the football program.
The Board of Education's recognition highlights the team's dedication and achievement. The ceremony brought together school administrators, board members, and the community to celebrate the championship.
The players received their plaques as a lasting tribute to their successful season. This event reinforced the community's support for the high school athletic programs.
