Bridgewater-Raritan High School To Host Jazz Festival

On Tuesday, 16 teams will compete for 10 qualifying berths to advance to the state finals.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Two Bridgewater-Raritan High School jazz bands will bid to earn a ticket to the state championships when they perform in their own backyard–stage–on Tuesday, March 7.

The New Jersey Association for Jazz Education (NJAJE) will hold its Preliminary Festival
competition on Tuesday at five host schools throughout the state, including Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

On Tuesday, the Bridgewater-Raritan High School auditorium will be the setting where 16 teams will compete for 10 qualifying berths to advance to the state finals on April 29.

The Bridgewater-Raritan Monday Band and the Bridgewater-Raritan Tuesday Band will each
seek to gain one of those 10 qualifying spots for the Division 1 state finals.

The competition will begin at 5 p.m. Bridgewater Raritan's Tuesday Band is scheduled to play at 7:05 p.m. and the high school’s Monday Band is slated to perform at 8:20 p.m.

The Division 1 state finals will be performed on April 29 at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison.
