Bridgewater-Raritan High School Wins First State Ice Hockey Championship

The 11th-ranked Panthers defeated 13th-ranked Ridgewood High School 2-0 at the Prudential Center in Newark.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater-Raritan High School's ice hockey team has achieved its first state championship.

The team secured the Public state tournament championship title on Monday at the Prudential Center in Newark. This victory marks a historical season for the Bridgewater-Raritan Panthers.

Bridgewater-Raritan, ranked 11th in New Jersey, competed against 13th-ranked Ridgewood High School in the championship game.

The Panthers defeated Ridgewood High School with a final score of 2-0. Stanley Xenakis scored both goals for Bridgewater-Raritan.

The team concluded its season with a record of 23-3-1. Ridgewood High School finished their season with a record of 21-5.

This championship game was the fourth time Bridgewater-Raritan had appeared in an ice hockey state championship. Their last appearance was in 2014.
