Why are you seeking to run for School Board?

I have had the privilege of serving on the BOE for over 15 years. During that time it has become evident to me that many people that I have served with were there in order to advocate only for themselves or small pockets of the community. It is my strong belief that as elected officials it is the responsibility of Board of Education members to make data driven and financially sound decisions that are in the best interest of all of our students rather than various special interests and vocal minorities.

School security has been an issue raised recently. Do you feel the Board and administration are handling this properly? And why?

N/A

A referendum is in the works looking to focus on fixing school building infrastructure and adding full-day kindergarten. How do you feel about this?

I am glad that the board has chosen to put forth a referendum so voters will have a direct say regarding both proposed questions.

What other issues do you feel need to be tackled in the school district?

N/A

What sets you apart from the other challenging candidates?

My experience as a parent of two BRRSD graduates and as a five-term Board of Education member has given me a wealth of knowledge and a deeper understanding of our district. I have gained a unique perspective on many issues and initiatives and am better equipped to discern which have merit, which may not, and how to prioritize.

What else would you like to share about yourself or your campaign?
