Honoring His Nana, Bridgewater Restaurateur Opens Italian Food Truck

Kevin Trimarchi wanted to find a way to showcase what his Nana has done and show how beautiful she was.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater local Kevin Trimarchi's newest venture is a new food truck inspired and dedicated to his late Italian grandmother whom he called Nana.

"My grandmother passed away and she always shared her Italian heritage and always loved making pizza," Trimarchi told Patch. "It was tragic when she passed and I thought 'What can I do to showcase what she's done and show how beautiful she is?'"

That's when he came up with the food truck idea Nana's Woodfire Grill to go with his Oink and Moo BBQ truck fleet.

"I love it, my family loves it, my dad loves it," said Trimarchi of dedicating his food truck to Nana. "It was a good way to keep the Trimarchi name going."

This is Trimarchi's latest venture under his company TriState Restaurant Group. He also owns 22 West Tap & Grill in Bridgewater, Oink and Moo BBQ Market in Somerville and Holmdel, and Even More Epic Cookies in Somerville, Slingin' Dogs in Somerville, and has a partnership with Ambee Coffee.

Nana's Woodfire Grill recreates Nana's specialty Neapolitan pizzas with a dough that is more fluffy and crunchy.

The menu offers the classics such as cheese, sausage, pepperoni, and white pizzas. They also offer more unique options such as Spicey Nana's Pizza with spicy vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves.

"Everything is completely fresh. The tomatoes are straight from Italy and fresh mozzarella is made in-house," said Trimarchi.

Nana's Woodfire Grill was just launched and can be found at Trimarchi's first restaurant 22 West Tap & Grill on Route 22.

The food truck is also available for private parties and can also be found every Wednesday at Jersey Cyclone Brewing Company in Somerset and on weekends at Flounder Brewing Company in Hillsborough. Locals can also catch the truck at upcoming food truck festivals in the area.
