Bridgewater Train Station Still Closed As County Continues Hurricane Ida Flood Cleanup

"Due to the historic nature of the storm, there is still a significant amount of water in the south fields of the parking lot."

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Train Station continues to remain closed three weeks after Hurricane Ida flooded the area.

"Raritan Valley Line rail service continues to bypass Bridgewater Station until further notice due to local storm clean-up and repairs from Tropical Storm Ida," Raritan Valley Line tweeted on Thursday.

Somerset County, who is in charge of maintaining the parking lot, is working as fast as possible to clean up the flood storm damage from Hurricane Ida on Sept. 1.

"Due to the historic nature of the storm, there is still a significant amount of water in the south fields of the parking lot," said Somerset County Spokesman Nathan Rudy.

As a result, the county can't remove the water from the parking lot area.
