📰 News we're reading

• Boy Hit By Pick-Up Truck On Route 22, Hospitalized With Serious Injuries In Bridgewater (patch.com) — A serious crash on Route 22 West near Commons Way in Bridgewater left a juvenile boy critically injured after he ran across the highway and was struck by a Ford F-250. He was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, and Bridgewater's Traffic Safety Bureau is actively investigating while asking local residents for any information about what happened.

• New Data Center Regulations Approved In Bridgewater Amid Resident Concerns (patch.com) — Bridgewater officials have adopted new regulations for data and hyperscale data centers after residents raised concerns about noise, power use, water demand, and neighborhood impacts, especially near the Greymark redevelopment on Route 22. The ordinance sets definitions and standards for large facilities without automatically permitting them, giving land-use boards clearer rules while leaving room to revise protections as technology and local needs evolve. Residents continue to scrutinize how the rules will affect Bridgewater neighborhoods and property rights.

• Patriots Notebook: The Final Postseason Push (milb.com) — With just six games left, the Somerset Patriots are fighting for a playoff spot as they host Hartford this week at Bridgewater's TD Bank Ballpark. The team's powerful offense, standout seasons from hitters like Coby Morales and DJ Gladney, and a recent complete game by pitcher Bryce Cunningham all fuel hopes that a strong final homestand and some help elsewhere can extend their season.
