A preliminary investigation found that a Mazda 3, driven by Garcia-Brito who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was traveling North on Route 206 approaching the intersection of Somerset Street when she lost control while navigating a curve and hit the curb and adjacent utility pole, said Manning.

Garcia-Brito died from her injuries at the scene.

Since the crash, Garcia-Brito's sister has set up a GoFundMe fundraising website to help raise money to cover the cost of the funeral.

Garcia-Brito was an alumnus of Middlesex Community College, where she obtained her associate's degree, and attended Rutgers University from which she would’ve walked this spring semester in the graduation.

"She was an extremely hard worker, with the purest soul that touched all those around her. We are entirely devastated by this sudden loss and would appreciate any donations to aid during this time of grievance for her funeral costs," wrote Annabella Garcia on the site.
