Buffalo Wild Wings To Honor Bridgewater Woman's Memory

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Buffalo Wild Wings is hosting a fundraiser in honor of a beloved young Bridgewater woman who died in a head-on crash in Bernardsville on Jan. 23.

Ashley L. Cardona, 26, of Bridgewater, who graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School, had worked at the Buffalo Wild Wings location in the township about a year ago.

Manager Matt Rovetto and employees wanted to host the fundraiser to honor her memory. The fundraiser will be held on Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

A total of 15 percent of the total bill for food and non-alcoholic beverages will be donated to the cause for anyone who prints out or shows the flier for the fundraiser on their phone to their server on the two days.

"Half of the proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter, which is something she raised money for in the past and the other half will go to the Ashley Cardona Scholarship Fund, which will benefit a Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School student," Rovetto said.

Cardona was always very involved in giving back as she recently held a drive for the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

"Ashley had a huge heart, was always making people smile, was fun and adventurous, loved animals, taking trips with her family to her country Puerto Rico, and lived life to the fullest," her obituary states.

Cardona was driving a 2009 Honda Civic west on Route 202 South at 5:02 p.m. when she crossed over the double yellow lines and struck a 2017 Cadillac Escalade head on coming in the opposite direction. Cardona was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. (See Related: Bridgewater Woman Killed In Bernardsville Head-On Crash)
